I was just wondering what many of you think is best to use as an attractant / bait to pull deer in to a trail camera? I am trying to get a good inventory of the deer in my areas and I am concerned after watching several fields near my trail cameras that there are many deer in my areas that I am not getting pictures of.

Currently I am placing some black magic inst-lick on the ground or a stump and dumping a few pounds of Acorn rage feed there also. In some of my areas I am also putting out a Record Rack mineral block. It seems that the mineral block has the most long-term pulling power.

I was just curious what many of you use?

I am intentially setting my cameras up in areas that I feel are nighttime only areas that are pretty far from my hunting locations. I do not want to contaminate my hunting spots by visiting them every two weeks and putting bait out.

Any thoughts?

It is only 10:55 where I am at.. I think the moderator needs to change something with times of post?? Anyway I wonder what is good setups to. My thought was it might not hurt to have the bait source set so the wind carries any possible smell to them. I try not to advertise so I use bait that is less visible to 2 leggers and smellable to 4 leggers. Just a thought.

I don`t like feed like corn because it draws in bears and they tear down cameras.Deer spend alot of time right now close to water.Little streams that have lots of cover and makes cool places to lay around.I use a mineral called lucky buck.It has a nice apple smell and works great.

I use a mix of corn, soybeans, and 20% protein feed that my local feeding store provides.

Just like to give them a good mix and they are hitting it pretty good right now.
