Which batteries last the longest?

I was considering buying lithium batteries for my camera, but didn't know if they would last longer than regular ones. Anyone know if they do last longer?

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

Lithium batteries seem to be much better during the winter months for me. I use regular alkaline batteries all spring/summer and they work great but switch to lithium in the winter months because they are much better suited for freezing temps.

Its not about what you harvest, its about the time spent afield with family and friends.

I would recommend Lithium Ultimate for cold weather as they test 1.79 to 1.83 volt. Durecell Copper Top is another good battery for normal use. If you are operating several cameras, I would suggest using rechargeable batteries.

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

Lithium batteries last twice as long in my bushnell cameras, and like previously stated when they start getting low on charge they don't crap out during the winter like alkaline batteries. Yes they are more expensive but a lot less hassle.

It's not an addiction, its my passion.

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

Coppertops run the best for me even in the winter months with my cams taking thousands of pics. They seem to last Jan.- April

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

The only cam I have run lithiums in is my m80 and they seem to last a significant amount of time longer than Duracell batteries. I have run the camera with the duracells first and they did well cause this camera is very battery friendly. I have now have the lithiums in the camera for over 5000 pics and is still at 92 %. I didn't really keep track with the duracells but I know they didn't do this well

My trial cam takes 6v battery only last about 1 week in the winter months,so i took a 6v car battery wired it up,last 4 months before i recharge it. That cam only stays in one spot.

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

There is no question in my mind that lithium batteries last the longest, but I switched to alkaline batteries based solely upon cost. I buy them in bulk, and yes, I change them more frequently. Sportsmen's Guide sells them for a fair price, and so far I have not had any duds.

I have to change batteries one time during the winter in my moultrie M 80 cameras. During warm weather, a set will last me three months or more. Compare about 30 cents per battery for the alkalines with about $2.00 per battery or more for the lithium batteries and it was a no brainer for me.

Re: Which batteries last the longest?

Does anyone have experience in using rechargable batteries? My cameras use D batteries and I was thinking of using them si I would always have a fresh set ready.
