IR black out DIY

Can you put window tint over your current IR flash to make it a blackout version which is popular now?

I don't know if that will work or not. I bought 2 of the moultrie M-80 blx and sat them on the table then turned them on, turned off all the lightsin the house. I walked out in front of the cameras and looking the whole time to see even a little light from the flash and never saw anything. I thought the cameras weren't working. I took the sd card out and put them in my computer and I had 15 pics on the cards.

Blend in or go hungry !!

I would think putting the tint over it would stop the light from coming out just like it does on windows, but IDK. I would assume it some type of special material on the black IRS that still let light out but does show color.
