Re: New Cam

Congradulations on your purchase. With any trail camera, I would suggest setting it up around home and doing some walk tests etc. thereby getting used to the right height, distance from trail or object, angle etc. before putting it in the woods. Do not face the camera into the rising or setting sun as you will either get redness or whiteouts due to over exposure. I usually set the camera 3 to 4 feet off the ground on a fair size tree. Smaller trees tend to move in the wind. Clear all vegetation in the selected area as wind blows leaves, branches or grass causing the camera to trigger. As a test, if this camera is capable of video, I would select that first to detect any vegetation movement. Face the camera along a trail or at trail intersections or if baiting is allowed, toward the bait. Trail cameras go into a sleep mode to save battery power. Facing along a trail gives the camera time to wake up. Good luck and have fun.

Re: New Cam

Thanks for the great advice! I'll do all of the above before taking it to the woods.
