Somebody stole the SD Card out of my camera. but they didnt take the camera? really???? people are dumb. im glad they didnt take the camera. but my question is just why???

Probably because they thought they were some where they shouldn't be.

Count your blessings.....it's sort of like leaving your car doors unlocked so they didn't have to break the window to get in to steal the 50 cents you had laying on the console.

That's easy. They knew it caught them and wanted to hide their identity without stealing the cam. Had it happen a few years back but thief actually replaced card with a brand new one!

a reason for them to take the card on private land was stated above. a reason for them to take the card on public land would be to see what is on it.

LS, actually i guess I can't really call them a "thief", more of a trespasser and exchanger
All in all if the cam is still there, i'd be counting my lucky stars that they person had half a conscience. I wouldn't tempt fate by leaving it there any longer though!

I had a sd card taken out of a camera once. I believe they were trying to hide a buck in the area. I captured the buck on other trails close by. Move the camera!
