What is it?

I got this picture of a coyote on one of my cams. I'm having a hard time determining what it is carrying in it's mouth. Is it the head of a deer? Is it a pup? Or is it something completely different? Let me know what you think.

Face looks like a young fawn, including the eyes and the black nose. Brown hair on the neck hanging out the other side.

haha infant squatch was my first guess

but I initially saw the fawn deer head but the longer I looked at the picture, I think my mind started playing tricks on me and began seeing other things. Figured some fresh eyes wouldn't hurt
