Another Cheap Camera.

Well what the heck, trying another one.Tasco 8mp from Walmart $29. Just set up today. At least this one takes more than one picture every 15 seconds. As you can see in my initial pictures the color stinks, but just about all of the pictures I get of predators, which is what I am looking for, are at night anyway so they are black and white. It really fluctuates between bright and dim pictures. The sensitivity is good, I am happy with how easy it triggers and it triggered with me walking about 15 or 16 yards away, I did not try further than that. The trigger speed is slow, I ran past the camera and it did not get me in the frame. I was about 5 yards away from it. The field of view is also somewhat narrow, that doesn’t help a slower trigger speed any. This one comes with a strap which is nice, although I quickly learned how cheap the latch is. It broke when I put some tension on it. So it’s tied on. LOL, it works. We’ll see how it does through the week. Hopefully have more pics next weekend. Oh, and this one has loops for a cable lock, definitely a plus.

Well here are a few of my first weeks pictures. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with the performance of this camera. It’s trigger sensitivity and distance is good, and trigger speed is a little better than I initially thought. When I went to check it today, I ran past it probably 2 yards further away then I tried last week, and ran a little slower. It quickly triggered and captured my image.
The daylight pictures are probably a 50-50 mix of dark and bright images. The picture quality is it weakest point. Color is poor in daylight, and nighttime pictures are a little grainy.
At $29 I am very satisfied overall at this point. Definitely would buy it over the wild game innovations that I’m posting about on another thread.

I have one that worked great for about 5 months but now it doesnít seem to want to take pictures unless you get within 5-10 ft of it. The picture quality was exactly how you described and about what I thought it would be for a cheap camera. For 28.00 Iíll get another. It worked better the primos or the stealth cams I got this summer.

I had a Moultrie on a stake on the edge of my pond in the yard. I pull the cards every week to check them. unbeknownst to me it fell over and was under water for a week. I took it into the garage and pulled out the card and batteries and just figured it was all junk. I put the camera on top of my heater and set the batteries to the side. took the card in and had a nice picture of it hitting the water. that was 3 weeks ago. saw it today and thought what the heck, stuck the batteries in it and it says no card. put a card in, set it on the bench and walked by a few times. pulled the card and it is working. I put it back out today, hard to believe!

Probably not trying to use it, just letting it set and dry out was the best thing for it. Great to hear it's working.

Latest pics. The coyote is at 17 yards. Very happy with trigger sensitivity. So far I will say the shortcomings of this camera are the sometimes dim daylight pictures, rain droplets on the lens with every rain, and poor picture quality you would expect from a bottom end camera. Picture quality really shows up when you try to zoom on a picture, as in the last picture here. It is a screenshot off my phone.

But at 29 bucks I am really loving this camera. It is capturing what game is present, and that is all I am asking it to do.

Thanks for the review! I may get one or two of these to try.
I donít need anything fancy and I have a real hard time investing in a top end trail cam only to leave it on public ground.

Does it seem like all of the animals are hearing it take pics?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4- Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day.

They definitely see the infared at night. I don’t think they hear it.
