2G public land

The last few years I've enjoyed putting a camera or two in the wilds of 2G, primarily for bear scouting, but really I just enjoy seeing what's there. I've been unsuccessful yet in locating the spot in 2G with the dense predator population I keep hearing about, but I'll keep trying. All I've been able to find are areas with plenty of deer and some very nice buck at that. I would love the challenge of chase some of these big-wood buck, but with only one buck tag a year, I doubt I will get the chance anytime soon as there's just too many options much closer to home, which is a great problem to have. I still love to see what's out there though. Here are some of my nicer pics this fall from Moshannon and Tiadaghton state forests.

Very nice pics!!! Impressive for a unit where there's supposed to be no deer.

That big one was from Lycoming Co. in what looked to me like the worst deer habitat I ever saw. I wasn't expecting to see anything that nice, but they did have an unbelievable red acorn crop the year before that seemed to continue to feed them into the spring. My buddy had him pushed right past him on the bear opener before the rain started out of a drive. None of us in my group of 3 had a buck tag left or we likely would have given him a chance in rifle. From the pics I got of him, he appeared to hang out on a huge featureless laurel flat, so absent a drive, it would have taken a ton of luck to see him.
