Moultrie 880 Problems

I have two Moultrie 880 camera's that were bought in 2014. The one I keep out year round and have had 1000's of pics taken with no problems. The other camera was barely used and when I put it out this year, three times in a row the new batteries were dead in a couple days. Any idea what the problem may be.

Same thing happened to me with their M888. I could not pattern when it would happen but randomly my batteties would drain for no reason at all. I use the same brand batteries in all 30 of our cams.

Sounds to me like you have an internal camera problem, just like if you left your lights on in your car. Something is not shutting down in your Moultrie. I would get in touch with the company with an e-mail and see what they say, I have 2 A-30`s and have never had any issues....Knock on wood....

Check your firmware, go to Moultriefeeders.com and see if there is a firm ware upgrade available for your camera. Download the up grade to a SD card that has been used in your Moultrie camera, then place the card in your camera and togle to where it says upgrade firmware and press yes. This may cure your problem.

I've been having problems with my Moultrie not taking pictures in the recent extreme cold weather. I've read that it's better to use lithium batteries, but I've yet to try it myself.

Lithium batteries do make a major difference in cold temps. We usually get at least 6 months out of a set of lithium.
