I think it's a big mature Bartlett pear tree that must be 30 foot tall and every year it seems to be loaded with pears. From what I remember it was a mature tree back in 1979 when I first started hunting this farm. Deer seem to come from every where for these pears when they start dropping. Every year I say I am going to prune it, but never have. A lot of the neighboring farms spend a lot more money on their hay fields then I do plus most have corn also, but pears will trump all other food sources when deer can get them. By late August or so the pears will be gone and the deer will be too. Some I will see again during the rut some nobody ever see's again. But it's always nice to know there's a nice buck living in a mile or two radius from you and at anytime one can show up.
The older I get the better I was.
