Been following this guy for years. This is the 4th season I have seen him and gotten trail cam pics. Got my first one of 2017 a couple days ago. He was an 8-pointer for the first two seasons and a 10 last year.
I saw him once in the season. Archery. Misjudged the distance and shot right under him. It was in a field and close to quitting time. Hard to judge distance without trees. No range finder. Oops. He may have given me that one shot and I blew it.
We saw him a couple times spotting and he is breath-taking on the hoof.
Kudu - you gave me a direct order. So I followed it.
What's even better: I was scouting in Feb and had a hunch about a new spot. So I put a camera there and marked it on my GPS. There were also a couple smaller bucks, some doe and fawn and a few bear. It's a great feeling when a hunch works out. No corn or minerals. I wanted to see what moved through there naturally.
