Trick question. I think it put more money in peoples paychecks through out 2018 and less at tax time. People seem to forget where that extra money came from in their checks.

I just did my daughters and her husbands return. Income up by 18%.....Income taxes up by 36%.

Not such a good deal.

Was almost a push. SALT cap hurt my wife and I on the deductions/return. Had more bi-weekly but nothing that equated to what we lost from our refund check.

I do not believe that most people understand what your question involves. My coworkers and my regular pay went up, and most of my educated colleagues did not even realize it or understand why! On top of that, my tax return was much larger than the last year. It was such a difference that I quadruple checked it. So, in the end yes, it helped me. I am certain it helped many others, but they have no clue........

For most it was 20 to 50 bucks a check and spread out over the year it wasn't that lump sum many were used to seeing.
