Wild Pheasant Youth Hunt Video

Links to the PA Outdoor Life TV show about the Wild Pheasant Youth Hunt

The first wild pheasant youth hunt was a huge success. Most hunters got shooting and all saw wild birds. Check out the videos of the first Saturday. Over the two Saturdays, five birds were harvested and about 40 youth hunted along with dog handlers and mentors. Some youth hunters got multiple shooting opportunities but it's a hard target for youth hunters (and adults).

You must have a good feeling of satisfaction my friend! Remember when the band of fools said this day would never come. My hat goes off to you and everyone involved, Great Job. There are wild pheasants roaming and reproducing in the area of your property, it doesn't get much better than that!

It's breeding,training...and something unknown.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer but 40 dogs and 5 birds over 2 days doesn't seem to be a very high success rate after what,4 or 5 years?

Congrats to the kids on a great opportunity. Imagine, getting to hunt wild birds and have cake too.

Check out the PGC press release in the small game forum. All hunters saw birds and almost all had shooting opportunities. It's not a shortage of birds, it's a case of young shooters. It was a great event.
