Hunting

Well good luck on the opening day and practice safety.I really don't need to hear about anyone being hurt.My son and I are all set for the most part.I cleared a few shooting lanes, just a teeny bit.He is set up on a huge scrape, fresh with fresh rubs as well.It is actually one large scrape and another a foot away. The buck is rubbing 3-4 inch trees. If it's a spike and he gets it I will still see it as the ultimate trophy.Heck if he shoots a doe I will feel the same.Again good luck and be safe.

Re: Hunting

My son saw 3 does and 2 bucks. In a 15 minute time frame. He didn't know what to go for.All between 10 till seven and five after.I will myself call that a good day.I think he now knows his dad knows a couple things about hunting. He is pumped up now.Talk about a grin.He wants to know when we can go back there.Deer came from where I told him they would.

Re: Hunting

I forgot to mention,I showed him the Big Dipper and Small Dipper on the way in.On the way out said he how cool it was seeing those.I think my son knows the whole picture of being outdoors.I thought the heavy fog added to the adventure.

Re: Hunting

Oh I had him rub a set of antlers the night before for good luck.Superstitious I know, but it always worked for my dad.Sorry to ramble 24 hours later after the hunt but I'm glad to have one of four kids feel this way about hunting.I actually thought I would hunt alone without my kids.By the way seeing him pumped up gave me a grin also.
