Don't know anything about the Axiom but I bought a vortex last year. It's been a great bow. I don't have any complaints about it. very accurate

Re: Reviews Excaliber Axiom

My son loves his Axiom I bought one from our very own Arrowhead. He is as good as me now if not better. As a dad I have no problems with that. The Axiom doesn't have the silencer pads like the other models. However I really don't hear much difference in noise myself. The pads don't do much. The Excaliburs are wider than a compound crossbow so you can't swing as far. That didn't stop me because of the quality and simplicity. My son had his choice of an Excalibur or a Parker. He chose the Axiom.I will say his choices were in the same price range because my funds were limited. He chose the Axiom.I feel it was a good choice but he may have wanted to be like his dad.He is confident with an Excalibur.Very important in my opionion.I have an Excalibur Exocet and he shot it well. When it comes down to it is what you can shoot well.Test a few and see what you like.It comes down to personal preference if you eliminate the cheap crap from the equation. That and if you want to service your own bow.You can't do that with a compound.I shot his Axiom and feel it wouldn't let you down.It is a quality crossbow.

Re: Reviews Excaliber Axiom

The 175 lb models from Excalibur are among my favorites. The Axiom is a very capable bow. Trigger is excellent. Very solid, lightweight, reliable bow. They are also wide. I would probably add string stoppers to tame the noise a bit.
