barnett quad 400

Anyone have or shot one? I have a chance to get one that only has a few shots out of it. everything seem tight and the limbs look good. string don't even have any wear on it. seems like a nice bow I'm new to crossbows so any help would be great.

Re: barnett quad 400

I have one and they are nice bows very accurate..If you are getting a decent price I would take it...It is a heavy bow not made for alot of hiking...Also never dryfire with your hands they will hurt for a week or more..Always take a discharge target with you...

I am getting the jackal. Barnett has a lot of good reviews from what I have read. What did you pay for the quad? Brand new from Walmart is 380.

I have the Wildcat and like it a lot! Barnett makes decent bows for a decent price! I'm giving the bow to my Dad, he's starting to have shoulder issues now that he's 60, and gonna get my son a Tenpoint Stalker SS. Lighter, narrower and a little quicker.

Re: barnett quad 400

If the center serving looks good, you are probably right that is hasn't been shot much. If you are getting it for a good price, it is a great way to get into the sport. Barmett is getting better all the time, IMO. The quad will be pretty loud and has plenty of vibration but it is is a nice entry level bow.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: barnett quad 400

I hear they keep getting better, but never again for me. I bought one when crossbows became legal in PA, it was absolute garbage. I have a Horton now, and I love it.

You can use a coupon at Dunham's and pay about $360.

That's fine by me, I've gotten my money's worth & then some out of mine. Plus peace of mind knowing I own a crossbow that's dependable when I head for the woods. Don't think I'll have any problem replacing strings, and if the limbs crack or it won't fire anymore, I'm still ahead of the game. "LOL".
