broadhead question

What weight broadheads are you guys using? Im looking at a xbow for my son and Im not sure what to get. Ive used 100g Montecs in my vert bow and have had great success. Is 100 too light for a xbow?

Re: broadhead question

Depends on your arrow. If your crossbow arrow has a aluminum insert up front, I like a heavier head to increase the front of center. 150 grains or so. If you arrow has the brass insert up front, 100 grains is ideal.

Many broadhead makers are producing heavier heads for non brass insert arrows.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Excellent. 100 grains is perfect and many love the G5s. I get a bit better flight out of the G5 Strikers in crossbows.

Re: broadhead question

Montecs and Strikers are both an excellent choice. I've been using the Strikers the last several seasons.
