Re: Does anyone have info?

I'm not a crossbow hunter but I've shot them at a pro shop up the road from my office. My impression was they seemed kinda heavy but when you shot offhand,it balanced very well. The one I shot was quiet, had a pretty nice trigger and shot right at 350 fps through a chrony. That was last years model. He has a new one hanging up that's even faster with a price tag of about $1600 I believe. My impression was that it would be a very serious deer killing machine.I'm not against crossbow inclusion.I have my own reasons for hunting with what I hunt with so I wouldn't buy one. However,if I was in the market for one,I'd look hard at a scorpyd. They'd probably have a huge share of the market if they were a little lighter and less costly.

Re: Does anyone have info?

I have a scorpyd 125. This is the first crossbow I've ever had, so I'm not to knowledgeable about crossbows in general. The good thing about them is, they are quite, fast, and compact. I can shoot behind the tree, which is one of the main reason I bought it. My ol'man treestand has a long platform though.
Some things I don't like about are, the safety comes off to easy, and it's hard to tell when the anti dry fire is triggered. a couple times I've been hunting with it in the anti dry fire mode, which makes it useless if a deer would have came along. I can't get broadheads to fly good. I called the owner and he would only recommend rage.

I shot it against my neighbors parker cyclone, and came away very impressed with the parker. It was very comparable with my scorpyd in speed and sound, and much cheaper priced.

Just my opinion.

Oh yeah, the string broke after about 40 shots. I wasn't even shooting it, it was sitting on the table. The dealer fixed it, but i had to pay for the cost of the new string.

I miss my mathews

Re: Does anyone have info?

I've shot them. Sold a few of them and haven't had any problems with them. The new Ventilator is much lighter than the previous models. It's a very quiet crossbow that balances very well.

Look at a SZ350 or SZ380

Bowtech Strikezone 380 - XB30
Monster MR6- HHA - QAD Ultra Rest
Middleton Black 375 SS - XB30

Sweet bows. Fast, quiet and great quality. Expensive, heavy and the faster ones can be arrow finicky .

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Bowtech Strykezones. The 380 appears to still be problematic with the limbs. The 350 is as reliable as any other bow. Buy from a very reputable dealer though. CS stinks.

Re: Does anyone have info?

SZ 350 and 380? 100% failure rate with all the ones I sold this year. It's true, every single one came back for a problem. That being said, I have had one for a year now (a 380) and shoot it about once a month testing different stuff. It's held up so far.

Re: Does anyone have info?

Just to update on my crossbow. After posting I decided to give arrowhead a call to see if he could help with my broadhead flight problem. He recommended I try a different arrow, which I ended up buying off of him. Anyway, the new arrows cured ALL my broadhead flight problems with this crossbow.

I highly recommend Arrowhead, he knows his stuff !
