Crossbow Length?

Is there a minimum length for a crossbow? I think I want to cut the shoulder rest off my Horton for better handling while stalking. Anyone know for sure?

Re: Crossbow Length?

If I understand correctly, you want to basically turn it into a pistol? Probably not a good idea. You will almost surely get your fingers in the string path.

Re: Crossbow Length?

You are wanting to keep the pistol grip and remove the stock from there back? I guess you can do that but what would you gain? Easier handling / lighter weight? There would be, I think, a tremendous loss in accuracy unless you goal is for close up shooting.

Re: Crossbow Length?

That has to be about the strangest question regarding crossbows I have ever seen. 1. Once you do that, cut or alter the bow in any way, any warranty is going to be VOIDED. 2. You risk weakening the overall structure of the bow, thus risking catatophic failure of the bow and possible injury to yourslef or others. 3. Accuracy is going to go into the toilet doing that. 4. How hard is it to still hunt with a XBOW??

so you want to cut off the "stock"? I think you are asking for trouble. I have a vision and it is fine, if you cut you lose you eye releaf, wouldn't you?

Re: Crossbow Length?

why? still hunting is not speed shooting, so you wont have any fast shots. you will be sneeking slowly and lifting your bow up slowly so your regular setup will not be an issue.

anyone trying to jump shoot deer with an xbow is off their rocker.
