new crossbow

Hi this is my first time in the crossbow forum been bow hunting for 25 years. I just won a horton 175 pound ultralight express crossbow dont know alot about them good bad if you have one let me know what yea think of it . thanks

Horton has had some problems the stock on that model. The bolt that fastens the barrel and trigger mechanism tightens into a bushing, the stocks have been cracking where the bushing sits.

Just keep it in mind and maybe call Horton to see if you can get an updated stock before it becomes a problem for you.

I don't hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt turkeys because I have to.

Thanks i will keep an eye on that. I shot it a few time this morning its fast but my god is that thing hard to pull back im going to have to get a cocker of some kind any advice on what i need. I would like to try it this year but i need to get some time in with it before i use it.

Yeah bud get a pull rope for it..just make sure the ropes set in the correct position when you use it.

Bought a pull rope what a differance i could pull this thing back all day. Its hard to beleive how accurate and fast this thing is 20-30 yards bulls eyes everytime. Im liken it.

What pound draw is it?What model brand?Oh and its a rope cocker not a pull rope.I'm glad you know the effective yardage of the bow.I hope you get the buck of your dreams.
