VooDoo

I'm sure that its been asked before but, I am asking again what's your input on the Victory VooDoo XBolt. I'm thinking about getting some.

Re: VooDoo

Depends on the bow you are shooting. I was recently involved in interviewing Victory Archery after testing these arrows extensively for a upcoming magazine article. They have their place but will not work in certain bows.

Re: VooDoo

Here is a VooDoo on the top and a Gold Tip Laser II on the bottom. You can see the difference in penetration out of the same bow shooting about 315 fps.

We advised against shooting the VooDoo in the Strykezones. A slight bit of wear on the anodizing of the nock receiver of the VooDoo caused the safety to not engage properly. Some are adding shrink tubing to the arrow rentention device on the Strykezones to make these arrows work.

Stock, you will get some shooting but most likely enough of the anodizing will wear off resulting in a need to modify the bow to get these arrows to shoot. We did find that the arrows will super accurate out of the Strykezones though.

Re: VooDoo

Victory is aware of the problem and does plan to work with manufacturers whose bows are not compatible with this new technology.

Hortons and Parkers have potential problems as well.

Re: VooDoo

Thanks for the info, I'm finding that the stock bolts that came with XBow are not that accurate out past 40 yards. with all the testing that you seem to have done any recommendations? on a good bolt for the SZ380.

Re: VooDoo

Gold Tip's Laser III is developing quite a following in the 380s. Need a stiff arrow in that bow for long range accuracy.

Arrowhead will also have some advice as he has shot the 380 more than I.

Re: VooDoo

Do they plan on making them in flat nocks?

Re: VooDoo

Victory did tell me that flats would be available. It is safe to shoot moons in any bow, though. Just not the other way around.

Lumenok is working on a nock for them as well.
