Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

I busted a nock on a 20" Gold Tip Laser II with moon nock. Can someone tell me how to remove the old nock and how to install a new one?
Thanks!

Re: Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

Thanks for the reply....do you know if there is any difference between a bolt and a carbon arrow with respect to the way the nock is installed? Theres not much nock left on my bolt and I'm afraid if I break it off I'll never get it out.
Thanks again,
barney

Re: Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

my bolts have an 8-32 hole in them....I have to stick a bolt in it and heat the bolt to pull it out because they are glued in...just did it today to put a luminock in...hope this helps

Come and try to take my guns!.you might meet my precious metal collection!

Re: Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

GT Laser II moon nock will remove if you use a small drill inserted into the hole that you see in the nock that is left. Just spin the drill in and it will usually make just enough heat for the nock to release. I then use a drywall screw to pull the nock.

Thanks everyone... I used the drill and screw technique and it came right out...It's nice to have access to resources like you when dealing with something I've never done B4.

How about the flat nocks on GT's from arrowhead. Can they be removed?

Re: Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

I've done the flat nocks a few times with mixed results. The only way I've found to remove them at all is to insert a field point into the flat nock and then heat it with a candle and pull with Vice Grips. If you use too much heat it will ruin the arrow. I've also had some luck with freezing and removing and immediateley warming with a hair dryer while pulling with vice grips.

Re: Changing nocks on Gold Tip Laser II

Now that the old nock is out....should I use any type of adhesive on the new one or just push it in? It appears to be a snug fit.

Just push it in. There should be enough friction to keep it there and secure it.
