Unstringing Crossbow

Just curious if any unstring their crossbow at end of hunting season(assuming you don't shoot much offseason.

I have an Excal Exocet 200 & never have unstrung except to change string. I recently contacted Excal & they told me that if stored in a relatively cool place...it is not necessary to unstring during the offseason. I guess if stored in heat(say hot attic or garage) it could cause some problems. My is stored in cool dry basement.

Whut do you do??

Thanks...

Re: Unstringing Crossbow

I was thinking of needing to also beagler plus removing the diss pads etc to avoid damage if unstrung. Per Excal...not necessary.

My email from Excal:

<span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">No, you don`t have to unstring it but, just keep it in a cool spot and it will be fine.

Re: Unstringing Crossbow

Not sure if Excals advice applies to all crossbows or just the recurve offerings??
