CROSSBOW RECOMMENDATION

my buddy received the green light from his wife to purchase a crossbow. he can spend up to $800. i told him to go find one that feels good in his hand, but i know nothing about them. can someone recommend a brand and a model. do they have lifetime warranties like the newer compounds?
