Horton Team Realtree Lightweight ?

I am seriously considering this bow. It fits me like a glove and feels " right". I just wanted to ask on here if anybody has one, and what you like/dislike about it ?

Re: Horton Team Realtree Lightweight ?

Don't own one but have shot it several times. Has alot going for it. Very lightweight and moderately fast. Only downside for me is it is the loudest crossbow I have ever shot.

If that doesn't bother you, and it fits you like a glove, nice bow for the money.

Gene, I wonder if that bow is as loud as my Excal Exocet 200? Mine is pretty loud as I don`t have a scope on mine for the extra weight and dampening.

Never shot a bare bow Excal but the TRT is louder than my scoped Excal Vortex.

Re: Horton Team Realtree Lightweight ?

Got one....Like: Lightweight, Compact, Adjustable Fore End and LOP, Accurate, Pretty Fast. Dislike: Loud.

Minke broke after a couple dozen shots. Sent it back to HGorton and they replaced the stock at no charge....Took a month though. Works great now. Haven't shot a deer with it yet but I'm not sure that the additional noise will make a difference to the deer. They all make noise that a deer within range is going to hear and possibly "Jump String". Keep your shots in the lower third of the deer, just behind the shoulder, and take him/her home.

I had a chance today to handle a Vision. Although it feels almost the same, I think for that extra 100 bucks you may be getting better technology, with the reverse limbs and all. Does the Vision shoot loud like the Lightweight?

The Vision happens to be the quietest crossbow I have shot. So, IMO, Horton has the honors of the loudest and the quietest crossbows on the market.

+1. In fact, it is so quiet that I thought something was wrong at first. It's so quiet that it seems like it shouldn't have enough power to kill anything.

Re: Horton Team Realtree Lightweight ?

The Vision will be slightly harder on servings then the TRT, but you can change the string yourself. There is a small string included that lets you change out the string without a bow press.
