Crossbow tuning problem solved

A friend's crossbow shot well with target tips, but wouldn't keep fixed broadheads or even expandables on a target at 20 yds. I adjusted cam timing and tiller to no avail. It drove me nuts until I measured from the axles to a point back on the stock and found out it was out of square. After shimming the riser at it's attachment point to the stock, it shot everything perfectly. (I found out later that my friend had dropped it out of a treestand twice and had it knocked off the back of his atv by a tree: yeah, he's real hard on equipment!)
