I finally came over to the dark side.

I have been bow hunting for about 22 years. Always used a compound and recently had a custom recurve built. After all of the arguments and high blood pressure I've read about crossbows on here and other sights, I thought if I ever did buy a crossbow, it would come with a Darth Vader outfit and its own exorcist. Well I bought a Horton Vision last week and have really enjoyed shooting it. Hunted once so far but no luck.(Thought for sure I'd kill a pile of deer the first time out with it.) Anyhow, I am now on the dark side and look forward to more hunting with it.

Re: I finally came over to the dark side.

Welcome. Glad to have you here. The Vision is a sweet bow for sure. The quietest crossbow I have ever shot.

Horton has got some awesome stuff coming for 2012. A new reverse limb crossbow shooting 350 called the Fury. A joint venture with Scorpyd.

Best of luck with the Vision.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Nice crossbow. Seems to be a good choice for hunting. Good luck!

Congrats on the Vision. I was never against them either. It just always cracked me up how fired up everybody got about them.
The real thing for me is time. It jst seems that life has gotten very busy the last few years. I just don't have time to shoot my compound to stay as proficient as I like to be. I'll still practice with the Vision, but I don't think it will take as much time to stay proficient with it. I also don't think the crossbow will extend my range at all either. I would shoot comfortably out to 40 yards with my compound and that will probably be about it with the Xbow also. Alot can happen in the amount of time it takes any arrow to cover 40 yards.
A buddy of mine and I have joked about going to the dark side and buying crossbows and now we both have done it. Can't wait for my days off this week to hunt with it. Good luck with yours and I appreciate everyone else's kind words. Honestly though, I can't believe nobody jumped on here and slammed me.

Did you forget to take off the D.V. outfit and put on your camo??
