Re: whats the difference

I bought a Barnett Wildcat C5 for my cousin this past summer. It shoots very well but it is slower than the advertised speed.

Re: whats the difference

Some of the manufacturers that have a high speed rating are using a 370 grain arrow to get that speed rating. Most hunting arrows are at or near 425 grains. I wish they all had a standard that they would have to follow, so the consumer could compare apples to apples.

That being said, Barnett has made great strides in customer service in the last year. I wouldn't be afraid of thier products at the moment. They have a good customer service record as of right now.

New bows coming from all the major players. Look at the new Parker, Wicked Ridge and a few others. There will be some surprises for the 2012 model year. I'm not allowed to discuss all that I know, or I would.

A relatively new player is Maximus. They are bringing some very interesting crossbows to the market this year as well. They are going to be worth a look. The Ergo is only 34 inches long and well balanced. The ISO is another.

Re: whats the difference

I see the Barnett quad 400 is 345 fps for $399 at basspro shop. A PSE reaper and Carbon Express x-force are both $399 as well but only 310 fps. Just dident make sence? I normally shoot Compond bow and they seem to be more auccerate between companies.
