Which one?

I'm considering getting a crossbow. I bought my dad a Parker Buckbuster 175 this spring and I'm really liking them. I've considered another Buckbuster, but I like the front of the stocks on the Enforcers and Tornado. Being the Enforcer's power stroke is 11" compared to the Buckbuster 12 1/4" how does that effect performance? I really like the Tornado but don't know if I'll have the cash for that one.

You can't bag a big one if your not out tryin

Re: Which one?

Power strokes can be a funny thing. Longer doesn't always equate to faster. Depends on the limb design and cam type. A longer power stroke usually means the bow will be harder to cock but that can be offset with a bullpup stock design.

Alot of variables that come into play on this. Best thing is to have a budget and either go pick some up and shoot them or talk to someone very knowledgable on the different models.

Re: Which one?

Parker will have four new models this year. I'll get to see and possibly shoot them the second week of January. I'm sure I'll have a full report on them here, after I get back from the ATA show. Stay tuned, there will be some very good crossbows available this year and I'm told that the prices will be reasonable for some of them.

Parker will be adding four new crossbows to their line for 2012. The, Gale Force 175 Crossbow, Tomahawk 160 Crossbow, Tornado F4 165 Crossbow, and the Challenger 100 Crossbow. I don't have all the details yet.

Re: Which one?

Any word if older models will be discounted? I'm looking to pick up a x-bow, looks like I should just hand tight for a month.

Re: Which one?

I'll be honest about the Parker's, ( I own 3 models) it all comes down to your like and dislikes, in stock, weight, feel...etc...

The differences in speed on them is a non-issue in normal bow range shooting...dead is dead at 300 or 350 fps. They all got similar arcs in that range and will group like champs to 50.

If you don;t have cash for a Tornado, but like the framework of it, look at the Hornet that is the one I got my boy this year when I would not give him his Tornado back, LOL. Got his first with it this Fall, dead in 20...

Or wait for the 2012's...

Re: Which one?

No word about discounts on the 2011 models. I know they did some of that in the past, but it's hard to say if the future will bring that or not.

There will be many surprises this year. I'm hearing all kinds of rumors and it looks like there will be one new bow this season that will be a true eye opener. If the rumor is true?? We will know for sure in a few weeks. The ATA show will be Jan. 10-12 and I'll be there and will try to update here as I see what is coming.

Re: Which one?

Yes, it was about Maximus. If the rumor is true, the game has changed.
