I will tell the story from all of the details I have been given. Dad walked me through the entire hunt last weekend when I was out in the woods.
On 10/18, Dad was hunting SGL in Cambria County and got nessled into a natural ground blind before day break. Just as shooting light came, he looked and there was a nice buck standing only 12 yards away. The buck never gave any indication that he was there, so it was a shock to say the least. He waited until the deer stepped a few more yards into his shooting window and he let him have it. The buck only ran 100 yards before expiring.
We held the antlers up to all of his past bucks and this one is the biggest when it comes to mass and width. We scored it ourselves and it grossed roughly 125" and weighed 185 lbs. field dressed. We guess the age to be 3.5.
He was using a Ten Point cross bow with Carbon Express bolts and broadheads.
