Just wondering?

What would be the right way to address the game commision about reinstating crossbow use in the late muzzleloader season? Also can a person with a disabled permit still use one? Any thoughts?

Re: Just wondering?

The only advantage to the old system of being able to use a crossbow under a muzzleloader stamp was being able to harvest a antleress deer statewide using the back tag.

You can still hunt the late archery season that runs concurrent with the muzzleloader with a archery stamp. Must have a WMU specific doe tag though, to harvest a antlerless deer.

The disabled permit system was eliminated. I do not believe that you could use a crossbow during the late season without a archery stamp.

After the sunset expires, and the data hopefully supports continued use of crossbows, It would seem to make sense to allow crossbows and compounds into the flintlock seasons as lesser weapons under a muzzleloader stamp again.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: Just wondering?

i dont think you should need a muzzleloader stamp for it to turn your back tag into a doe tag. after all its muzzle/late archery not one season. tired of the preference in that one when bowhunters get no satisfaction and have to allow rifles and crossbows and inlines. they should just call it, fall deer season, its not archery season anymore. crossbows can stay, the guns need to go or let archery hunters use the back tag just like muzz holders

What I say might not be the popular trend but at least Im not afraid to speak my mind!
