How often should you replace a crossbow string?

Mine is a couple of years old, but still looks good.
When should I have it replaced?

Mine crossbow string is 3 years old, looks good shot less than 40 times and I am staying with it until it starts to fray badly, a strand breaks or sometime drastic happens with accuracy.

I normally only change mine when starts to fray a bit. If its just starting to fray before season you would normally be ok until the end. But if its starting even a tiny bit I would have it done before season.

Most manufacturers recommend every 3 years or so. Honestly, you can go twice that under normal use, if not longer. Keep em waxed.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!
