Opinions, new xbows

It seems most manufactures are making their crossbows shorter and shorter. Most market them as “more maneuverable” and “lighter”. My current xbow is 35” in length, I find these shorter xbows uncomfortable to shoulder. I have a 30.5” draw with my vertical bow, but very few new xbows are comfortable IMO. Anyone else dislike the trend to short and short xbows?

I do not dislike the trend but I have several close friends that like longer crossbows, as you do.

One of the issue I see often is many crossbow manufacturers are going to bull pup type stock configurations. Problem is most crossbow scopes have 3-4 inches of eye relief and relatively short scope bases. This results in the shooter not getting a comfortable cheek weld. This may or may not be an issue with you but it is with many folks.

My ideal crossbow would have about 30-32 inch overall length, 16 inch width, weigh 7 lbs with scope and arrows, and have a scope with 2 inches of eye relief.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!
