Custom X-bow string replacement

My Barnetts string is nearing what I would consider end of life.. the question is does anyone have any expierence with aftermarket/custom crossbow strings? If so would you steer clear of them or recommend them? I can get manufacturer replacement cables for the same price, just wanted to do different colors and such if it wouldn't my bow.

I have used and recommend ViperX and Vapor Trail. I have also heard many great things about 60X but have not used them yet.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

I had a partial dry fire and snapped the string. I took my CAMX into Archery Addictions, and since they don't stock a string for that bow, built one for me. Seems to work just fine. I guess if it's a reputable shop they can build you a custom one.

I have 60X string and cable set on my Barnett Ghost 410 with several thousand shots.
There has been no stretch, fraying or serving separation. Very happy with their customer
service. They will build with colors for a few dollars more. With any string or cable, keep
them well lubricated and a light coat on the rail. All the best in what ever you choose.

After trying nearly every manufacturer out there, I highly recommend Americas Best Bowstrings- Viper-X. They build some very good strings and I've never had an issue with them. I buy around 40 string sets a season. They are the only ones I have ever ordered more than 5 sets from. I gave up on the others before the first 5.
