My first miss with the matrix.

Yup, it finally happened to me.
Limb tip hit the tree. First time for that. Missed a nice old doe.
Still got plenty of time yet.

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

I guess it was a glancing nick. I saw where a guy hit a tree with a limb and the bow came back on him. Had a pretty good shiner.

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

It did give me a good smack on the cheek. Wake up call, I guess.

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

I would be checking both limbs for damage.

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

The horizontal limbs can present some challenges in a tree. Hopefully, that does not happen again. Glad you are okay. People can get really hurt when that happens.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

I'd be checking it over REALLY close for limb damage, and repaired if needed. You got plenty of season left. We all have been there with those unforeseen issues when that moment of truth comes. Get her fixed, and get back in the stand--hope for the best of luck for your season.

Didn't a member on here get knocked out of the tree a few years ago? I seem to remember something about that.

Re: My first miss with the matrix.

Some folow up on the limb.
The limb splintered on me Friday afternoon. I cocked the xbow at the house and went to the stand. Got in the stand and went to put a bolt in. Thats when I saw the splinter peeled back. Removed the bolt and got down. Uncocked the xbow and back home. Never made any noise when it splintered. TOOK it to the shop. Be about week or so till he has parts. WArrentied, didn't even ask any questions.
A little bummed not having a xbow. Started thinking I should have a back up. So I ended up leaving with a Katana. Shot it some yesterday. Very nice xbow. Trigger isn't bad, not as good as a sz380 though.
Really easy to cock. Almost pulled to hard the first time. Used to matrix. I'll get used to it this week and go hunt with it saturday.
