Difference between Slick Tricks

Would someone kindly point out the difference between the Slick Trick 100 grain x bow head and the Slick Trick Magnum head. I can't see a difference. I think it is a marketing gimmick.

Re: Difference between Slick Tricks

The ferrules are a different shape/profile.
Also the difference in weights is done through the actual steel ferrule.

Weight is the same and the ferrules look identical. This is for the 100 gr crossbow slick trick.

Believe the magnums have a broader cutting diameter.

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog!

I believe they are identical.

I don't hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt turkeys because I have to.

Re: Difference between Slick Tricks

The cutting diameter between the two is identical. The only difference appears to be that the Crossbow Trick has a slightly different ferrule profile that is heavier/tougher near the tip. Otherwise, they are identical.

For the record, I use the 125 gr. Slick Trick Magnum with my crossbow and have had no issues killing deer with it.

For the 100 grain, the ferrule is identical for the crossbow trick vs the magnum trick. I believe the ferrule on the crossbow trick has a different profile for the heavier than 100 grain model. But the 100 grain model looks identical to me.

Re: Difference between Slick Tricks

Yeah, sounds about right. Either way, I think the Slick Trick broadheads are an excellent choice for crossbow hunting, as long as the crossbow itself isn't limited by the blade width (e.g. some folks mention that the Mission series crossbows have issues with larger cutting-diameter blades).

Re: Difference between Slick Tricks

The 100 grain slick trick crossbow heads shoot a bit low compared to field points out of our ten point fx4.
