New Crossbow String

i may already know the answer to this question, but my dad's crossbow is about 5 years old and the string is still in really good shape, no fraying at all, but i imagine that it has stretched with age. it is a Horton 150 summit. should i replace? Thanks!

Re: New Crossbow String

I would if it was mine, but that's your choice. I shoot so much I usually change my bow string every year. But a friend shoots just enough to stay proficient and has to change his every 3 years or so.

Re: New Crossbow String

The string may last another 5 years or it may break on the next shot. Most crossbow mfg's recommend changing the string every other year.
