Today's hunt....with a question

I hunt an area that is right along a creek....which is nice because its really thick and provides good cover, but difficult because the river masks the sound of moving deer.

Today I got in at 8 and saw my first deer, across the creek (neighbors property) at 9:15. She stood rock still for two or three minutes. Looked my way once or twice then suddenly looked behind her. I noticed a deer moving quickly toward her, and she jumped into the brush. I'm guessing a buck.

Two hours later had three doe pop up right beneath me (had NO idea they were there--this place is thick). They scented me and slowly drifted away and eventually bedded down 50 yards off.

They left about 2 hours later.

When I left my stand at 2 I kicked up some of those doe (apparently they bedded down again).

Good news: finally seeing deer on the property. Last two years have been great, but some construction really messed with things this year.

Bad news: kicking up those deer.

Question: Do you think I can go back in there Monday after kicking up the deer today 100 yards from my stand?

Re: Today's hunt....with a question

This time of the year, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Bucks will be running those does around and get everything all stirred up anyways.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

What DPMS said. Get back after them.

I hunt thick bedding areas, I worry when I don't bump deer on the way in. Go get them!

I see said the Blind Carpenter to his Deaf Helper as he picked up his Hammer and Saw!
