Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

Whats the difference for the extra $$

The scope choices really impact the bottom line. What are the benefits / drawbacks on the scope packages ???

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

I got the whole Cyclone red hot package. Crossbow, bolts, scope,(illuminated red circles), broadheads, case, etc for around $1150 give or take. I don't actually know what just the crossbow costs. I really like the adjustable stock, allows for my son or myself to shoot it comfortably. I don't think the Torado has the string stoppers/silencers. Shot both and the cyclone seemed smaller in width. Very easy to cock with the rope they give you. The scope is like nothing I've ever seen. 3x which is just enough, could be 4x though, and very easy to sight in. Had a red dot last year and it was horrible. You'd really have to shoot them, but I didn't think the Tornado was as good, and it's supposed to be faster which I couldn't tell.

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

I have shot them both also.. Was going to upgrade to the updated cyclone this year..
I liked both, but my tornado fit the bill for me better..
The cyclone costs a bit more.
The widths are within a 1/4" of each other..
The tornado is a bit shorter. I'm only 5'7 1/2" tall.. Fits me perfect. My buddy is 6'4", and he has the same bow, and says it fits him like a glove also...
They both weigh the same.
Parker rates the tornado at 330 fps, the cyclone at 340... My tornado shoots 342 with a viper x string and cable.. I'm sure the cyclone would be faster then rated also with the same string and cables..
IMO the cyclone just felt more front heavy...
You can put the string stops on the Tornado also..
They are both awesome bows, and you won't go wrong with either one.

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

Thanks

Sooooo Basically the T and the C are not much different except for the adjustable stock in the overall picture

What about Scopes ? Spring for the Extra $$$ for the better scope?

Can I buy a bow without the scope and put a suggested one on

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

I really can't imagine having the lower end scope or a red dot of some type. I had a a Barnett last year with a red dot and it's simply no comparison to the cyclone with the better scope. It's like using a Kimber rifle with $60 scope

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

I am considering ArrowHead for the Bow Purchase and going to Cabelas for the scope. I am loaded up with Cabelas gift cards and a $25 off $50 coupon.

Looking for Scope suggestions ?????

I will have to get with AH to find out what discount is applied for No scope.

Re: Parker Tornado -vs- Cyclone

If you want quality optics the Hawke XB-30 is the best crossbow scope out there. I can basically make any scope package that you want though. Last I checked Cabelas didn't have the Hawke scopes, but you could use your card for sling, broadheads, scope covers and the like.

Tornado -vs- Cyclone
I shot a Tornado last season and loved it. I used a cyclone this season and I like it, but I'm not in love with it. It is faster that is for sure, but it's also a bit more front heavy. The adjustable stock rattles just a little unless you keep it at the shortest position. I went back to the Tornado.
