Matrix string question

My string on my 380 is resting hard on the bumpers what is the correct distance that it needs to be?

Also when using the stringer when releasing it do i need to use my rope cocker like when I am unloading the crossbow or will i just be able to hold it with my hands? I don't wanna find out the hard way

Re: Matrix string question

You want it off of those bumpers by 1/8 to 1/4 inch. The string is stretching and needs some twists. I always used my rope cocker to engage and release the stringing aid.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: Matrix string question

What DPMS said. One thing I will warn you is the factory strings on the Matrix bows will stretch and stretch and did I mention they will stretch. There are some aftermarket strings like JBK or a custom flemish that will not stretch as much.

Now the factory string on the Excal Micro is very good and I have only adjusted it once. Hopefully they will change and go to a similar string on the Matrix series.
