new crossbow hunter

have a question,,how long can I keep my crossbow in draw position I need to use a crank due to bad shoulders and like to all day hunt....ty

I think it would depend on which crossbow you have - to be 100% sure, I would call the manufacturer and ask.

That being said, I'm not aware of any crossbow that could not be left cocked for a full day of hunting.

I always de-cock or shoot my bow into a target at the end of the hunting day. Since I have a truck with a cap on the bed, carrying around a "discharge target" is not a problem.

You can hunt all day and leave the bow cocked and not hurt a thing.

Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!

What kind do you have. Like cspot/dpms said all day is not a problem. You can buy a discharge arrow and make your own discharge bag. A lot of rags in a feed sack.

I'm so far behind I think I'm in first place.

Ive had my barnett cocked alday and now have a Ten Point and it's been fine..Rusty
