new crossbow hunter

i have a question,how long can your crossbow be in the draw position? I have to use a crank because of bad shoulders and I sit the whole day and dont want to damage the bow

You can leave them loaded all day and shoot it off at dusk..It does not hurt them..

All day is fine. If I break for lunch I will decock it but if I hunt all like I will be doing next week, it stays cocked all day.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Just because of the energy stored, I do the Manufacturers (Barnett) recommendation of 4 hours, with a half hour let-off/relax. I Got a crap bolt in the bag and do it during my lunchtime wizztime stretch time at midday.

Yes, I am not locked and loaded for a bit, and could miss a chance for a brute, but just don't like that kind of energy near my pretty face, and me shirking on recommended precautions!
