9 pointer with my new Tornado

I shot this 9 pointer at my Bradford county cabin on Saturday with my new Tornado. The buck went 30 yards and piled up. Complete pass thru shot. Check out the growth on its face. Has anyone seen anything like this before and have any clue of what it is. The deer was completely healthy otherwise.

Congrats!

Re: 9 pointer with my new Tornado

Congratulations! What was in that lump when you skinned him out? I shot a buck last year with a softball sized lump just under the brisket. It was a huge puss filled sack that I assume was from some unknown injury. Did not find any foreign objects in it.

Re: 9 pointer with my new Tornado

I didn't skin him out myself...just cut off the antlers when I dropped him off to be processed at Dotti Lou's butcher shop...having him made into kielbasa, jerky, sausage and burger...it wasn't a hard feeling lump though...It felt like it was a fatty substance inside...

Teach your wife to hunt, then you will not have to hunt for her in the mall.

Re: 9 pointer with my new Tornado

it had an infection in its tooth, must have got a peice of corn or something stuck in between its teeth and that created an absess. he would have probably died if it would have got worse, since he would not have been able to eat.
