WMU 4C

Why is this unit still 2 week Buck/Doe.Seems deer popultaion on the SGL's in this zone are low.Almost depressing on the lack of shooting in the SGL's I was in the last two years and deer sign almost non-existent.Not sure on private land.Probably a different story.

Re: WMU 4C

I have been wondering the same thing for the last few years. Not to mention AR seems to be working in reverse. More scrubs and less beasts being taken than ever before.

Re: WMU 4C

Yep...About 8:30 Monday morning I joked with my father "Today IS the first day....right?" Shooting was very light. I managed to shoot a mature 6...my first in years...but that was the only deer seen in two days.

Re: WMU 4C

4C used to have great public land hunting, but those days are gone. Stopped hunting it 3 yrs ago. I hunt 3D(private) and 2G now. The Concurrent season is overkill in this WMU. At least on public land. Feel bad for the average public land hunter there.

Re: WMU 4C

No need for the two week anterless season here. Tons of deer on private properties and developments , public land is in serious trouble. Very little shooting, I scout every Sunday pretty much all year, very little sign, and I cover many miles.

Re: WMU 4C

4C in my neck of the woods is loaded with deer. Yes on game lands too. Friend seen 34 deer this past Saturday by 11:30am and I saw more deer in archery than I have in recent years. If anything there is more deer.

Re: WMU 4C

I wrote a letter to the PGC about the two weeks in 4C last year. I hunt in the upper end of 4C. We have 76 acres bordered by game lands. Our neighbor has 1,000+ acres of land. Hardly any deer seen among all of us. In 4 days of hunting I saw 3 total deer and this is with a lot of walking.

AR or no AR I can not even see a buck. I am so frustrated right now. All it can be is the doe kill but the past few years there was hardly any shooting around. It's frustrating.
