WMU'S What do you think should happen?

Well I was reading the outdoor news the other night. The particular artical that cought my attention was the one on the front page about slated WMU changes being put off. Towards the end of the artical it was mentioned that the commission would like to get the feedback of hunters on their particular inputs/concerns about making any changes to the current WMU's so I thought I would take the time and Bring the debate here first. So feel free to state what you think should happen In the up comming years

Personally, I don't think they can ever break the areas down far enough to be able to accurately manage the game within the borders.

What we have now is fine.

I’m not trying to sound or be negative but that is what everyone is going to say about the WMU(s) they hunt in for their own reasons. It is a nice idea, and it is great to pole the audience for their opinions.

I think 2G could be split in half. Other than that I'm not really sure.

I think they should conduct surveys based on hunter density as well as the biological data. I think 2C should be split. The 2c part of Cambria County is hammered and i believe that a large percentage of the doe tags are concentrated in this area. I wouldn't mind going back to the county by county management system.

Break up 5C ...... unlimited antlerless tags ONLY in the SRA portion of 5C.

I'd also agree with this.

Re: WMU'S What do you think should happen?

Personally, I think 5C is fine just the way it is, # of doe tags and all. There are plenty of deer and I don't hunt the SRA portion either. Most of my hunting right now is in 5C, 3D & 4C. I sure hope they don't go back to the county by county management system, it was an outdtated failure then and would be even moreso today. Deer don't abide by county boundaries. I tend to think the WMU system is largely fine the way it is, with the possibility of a few minor tweaks with certain WMU's as some of you have suggested.

Split 2b up. Beaver county does not belong with Allegheny county.
