Carl Roe Must Go !!!

.... a 1/2 page ad taken out in the PON, page 15. Supposedly paid for by the "Coalition of Concerned Sportsmen". Now what "group" is this ? A spinoff of USP ? They go on to list 3 important quotes from what they call "the experts". Tom Boop, Dr. William Sharpe and Dr. Gary Alt.

Gotta say, if BT's number of 33K additional tags for 2G is correct in the other thread, these anti-PGC orgs. are going to gain steam. That not only says you're beat, but we're gonna step on your throat when you're down also.

Adding for clarity.... The "Carl Roe Must Go" is not my title. It's the tile of the ad taken out, emboldened on page 15 of the PON (last issue, I'm always behind).

Re: Carl Roe Must Go !!!

Do you think this is the first time for something like this? Roe has no control over the Board, it works the other way round, he works at their will and since the BOC makes the decisions, what good would firing Roe do?

Increase to 33K, not a 33K increase.

Re: Carl Roe Must Go !!!

Nope, not the first time. But it is the first time I've heard of this particular group.

Re: Carl Roe Must Go !!!

Ya know, I spoke to one of the younger, newer guys at the PGC yesterday. He heads up one of the Bureau's. Great, energetic guy with sportsmans interests at heart.

He told me that the reason for so many great improvements at the PGC was Carl Roe and his forward thinking and support. He IS changing the "old" culture of the PGC, which needed to go, and replacing it with a "can do" attitude.

Carl is close to retirement age as it is, so, he'll go soon anyway, but perhaps he will leave to soon and not have finished his work?

No one that sits in on those presentations like were given yesterday cannot come away pretty impressed with this agency, overall.

Re: Carl Roe Must Go !!!

Roe was the perfect person to head the agency, given the struggles they've had with NO license increase since '99.

Among other things: Economic woes statewide and nationwide, leading to a drop in timber and other PGC revenues.

Shale gas exploration revenues have helped some, but these are critical times and Roe has done an excellent job of managing not only PGC's finances, but the agency in general.

Anyone that doesn't appreciate him, really has little grasp of the situation, or of the man's abilities and accomplishments.

So in short, whomever is responsible for that ad, is clearly a clueless imbecile, or some similar collection thereof?

Re: Carl Roe Must Go !!!

His impressive achievements, of maintaining or even growing an agency in these trying times, may actually be proving the legislator's right..... in that they want all agencies to buckle down budgetarily in these trying times without a license increase. He's taken the challenge and succeeded. Essentially proving them right in a strange way in that, they can still survive without an increase. Maybe he should pull back on the harness a bit. He's outperforming.

TPlank, The increase to 33K tags comes out to about a 33% increase. Confusing isn't it?

With your math, it sure is.

10K / 23K = 43.5% increase.
