cougar bobs

Been going to camp in that area for over 20 yes but never set a foot in the place. Heard lots of crazy stories about it. Let's hear your stories!

Re: cougar bobs

Cougars Bob's is a good bar! I use to tent camp a couple hundred yards downstream on Tionesta Crick, we would hike up in the evenings and tie one on. that was 30 years ago though. I havn't been up that way in about 10.

I see said the Blind Carpenter to his Deaf Helper as he picked up his Hammer and Saw!

Re: cougar bobs

My camp is at the top of Mayburg rd. about 10 minutes from there. Funny Thing is I never stepped foot in the place. Awfully crowded during deer season for sure!

Re: cougar bobs

It's been probably 15 years since the last time I was in their but it was during bear season. I was up visting my uncle who had a camp on German Hill road. Around late afternoon we were right over by Cougar Bob's we were finishing up hunting for the day so my uncle says lets stop and wet our whistle. The whole bear crew went walking in guns and all so I followed suit. No one batted an eye, reminded me of an old saloon with all the guys and guns. Everyone was real nice and friendly, and the beer was cold. Like a mountain bar should be.

Re: cougar bobs

johnny z, any link to news article or was this a happening in days gone by? thought at one pt. owners son went out to plow snow early one morning and heard some strange sound coming from across the road, found a previous night's patron frozen to the ground and calling for help. Don't think he passed from the ordeal.(or how true the tale may be). I used to stop in once in a while when I dated a girl from Tionesta, the drinking age was not strictly enforced.
have definitely seen some rough looking females in there from time to time, but no great stories. I hunt out of a camp in forest co., jenks/howe twnshp area, so I am fairly familiar with Cougar Bob's. Some of my older "cousins" probably have a few good stories from back in the day.
