What are some hunting, fish, trapping superstitions people have?
For hunting its always leave a canteen filled up with water on the deer rack or hood of vehicle. And wear my lucky gloves and hat that were handed down.

Catching a fish on the first means poor day.

Boot laces!

I was lucky enough to kill a buck the first hour on the first day I hunted deer. After the back slap'n and hand shake'n it was time to dress it out. Being 12 years old and my first deer I had no clue where to start so Dad(RIP)did the deed.

Back then we used to carry a piece of string with our license in the holder to tie the tag on, but I didn't have one. When I told Dad and "Unk" I forgot my string my uncle knelt down, whipped out his knife and hacked off about 6" of my boot lace and tied the tag on, "Now, don't forget it next time"!

The was 1960. Every tag since has been tied on with a piece of boot lace! When my son killed his first in '85 and my grandson last season the "boot lace" tradition continued!

A true albino, yes.

Another day in paradise. God hunts on Sundays.

I can barely tie the laces on both of my boots......because the old man always forgets his string, and I get to sacrifice my laces.....

For fishing your not supposed to have bananas in the boat. I don't believe it but some swear by it.
For me it seems like whenever I have a camera, nothing happens! So I don't take them anymore. Well nowadays every phone is one.

Re: What are some hunting, fish, trapping superstitions?

Many years ago, the Indians who lived in Pennsylvania had a name for a hunter that was a bad shot.

They called him Vegi-tar-ian.

That's why I believe it is bad luck to have a corn feeder.
