Carbon County Arrowhead Hunting

I have a nine year old boy who believes everything he finds is a read arrowhead. We moved to Jim Thorpe 2 years ago and recently stumbled onto this site. I am trying to find out where I can take my son to search for REAL arrowheads within a half hour of Jim Thorpe. Any help would be great! And thank you so much!

Try going over to a site called "Treasurenet" register on there and post your question there,i'm sure you'll get some answers to your question.I was out behind a place i used to live at one time metal detecting the field and my boy at the time he was 8 came up to me and said daddy is this an arrowhead? and low and behold he found 1 laying right on top of the ground, the tip was broke off but still a really nice find,i searched the field and found some scrapers and a axehead.Best time to look for them is right after a good rain, they just seem to pop out.Good luck.Rich

Considering the large amount of rain we had last summer...Look along large creeks for wash outs..Right now they are your best bet unless you can find fields along large creeks that still get plowed.
