Dents Run gold bars

Sorry I dont have more on this but yesterday at work I caught the tail end of this news story on the local radio station.

I think they said someone found 26 gold bars in a cave in the Dents Run area. This is from the Union wagon train where the commanding officer became ill and nobody knew what happened to the men and gold.

Anyone else hear anything?

Re: Dents Run gold bars

if they did find it, they would be pretty stupid to tell the story, i would have melted it down and sold the block that day.

amen hunter4095, if they were finally found......and admitted, the finder just made a heck of a discovery that he/she will never be able to appreciate. Melt, mold and sell slowly should be the motto if you are a treasure hunter!

Re: Dents Run gold bars

boondocker, any idea what station that was?
I also help out on a treasure hunting site and one of the members there has been claiming to have found this gold for months now but couldn't "extract" it. He now claims someone came in and stole it out from under him and is blaming DCNR workers as they were nosing around the area and telling him he didn't belong on state land.

It all just has my curiosity running at 100MPH now

I've read about this discovery on that site also. Great story but it seems really far fetched.

That story is at least 3 or 4 years old...........I remember reading it in the paper..........

"Most people miss opportunity because it comes dressed in overalls, and looks like hard work"
